Applications can be submitted till November 13, 2013 for All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination 2014 (AIPGMEE 2014)


Applications can be submitted till November 13, 2013 for the All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination 2014 (AIPGMEE 2014) for admission to MD/MS/Post Graduate Diploma Courses 2014. Several states including Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh,Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Odisha have informed that admission to the Post Graduate Medical Courses in the Medical Colleges/Institutions in their States for the academic year 2014 will be on the basis of the AIPGMEE and they have issued notices in this regard.


The National Board of Examinations (NBE) will conduct the competitive entrance examination on all-India basis for admission to the 50 pc All India quota seat for MD/ MS/ Diploma for the 2014 admission session except for colleges located in Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh from 25th November on the identified testing dates. MD/MS Programs are of 3 years duration from the date of admission. Candidates are eligible for admission after completion of compulsory rotating internship. Diploma programs are of 2 years duration from the date of admission after completion of compulsory rotating internship.

Applicant must be an Indian Citizen. Aperson who holds M.B.B.S. degree from a recognized medical collegeor a foreign medical degree included in the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and who has obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India or any of the State Medical Council after completing compulsory rotating internship will be eligible to appear for the examination.

However, those undergoing 12-month compulsory rotating internship/practical training and expecting to complete the same by 31st March, 2014 can take up this examination. The dates indicated by candidates with regard to12 months Compulsory Rotating Resident Internship (starting date, completion date) shall be treated as final and candidates will be required to submit the original Compulsory Rotating Resident Internship completion certificate at the time of admission in allotted College. Registration with M.C.I/State Medical Council is necessary and its documentary proof should be furnished at the time of admission in allotted College. A candidate can register and appear for AIPGMEE-2014 only once for admission for the academic year 2014-15.

The AIPGMEE which will be delivered using computer network, will be conducted between 25th November and 6th December, 2013, which is referred to as the testing window, with 26th, 1st and 4th December as non-testing days.

The Test cities include Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Durgapur, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jammu, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Navi-Mumbai, New Delhi, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Siliguri, Surat, Trivandrum, Udaipur, Varanasi, Vijayawada and Vishakhapatnam.

There will be two sessions for AIPGMEEon each testing day with one session for a candidate. The forenoon session will be from 10 am to 1.45 pm and the afternoon session, from 3.45 pm to 7.30 pm. Entry time for Candidates at the reporting counter will be 9 am for the forenoon session and 2.45 pm for the afternoon session. The entry to the reporting Counter closes at 9.30 am/3.15 pm.

An applicant can appear either in the forenoon session or in the afternoon session. Candidates have the option of choosing their examination centre, date and time through the online registration & scheduling system. The test centre option will be considered on availability basis. Applicant will only be shown sessions that are available at the point of scheduling. Those appearing or registering for more than one session shall be booked for use of unfair means and action shall be taken against them accordingly. At the end of Registration and Scheduling process the applicant will get a computer generated acknowledgement and an admit card at the registered email id of the applicant. A print out of this admits card constitutes the Admit Card-Cum Confirmation Slip.

Candidate is required to affix the latest passport size photograph of the given specifications on this acknowledgement. Candidate is required to bring a print-out of this acknowledgement to the Test centre along with an original and non-expired identification document such as PAN CARD/ Driving Licence/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhar Card. The name on the photo identification must match with the name as shown on the Admit card. If name has been changed due to events such as marriage; applicant must show the relevant document at the time of test.Candidates who have obtained their Primary medical Qualification outside India and do not have SMC/MCI registration should bring their original screening test pass certificate issued on NBE letter head.

The examination will be a multiple choice questions test delivered using computer network. The test will have 300 multiple choice, single correct response questions in English language only. The subject-wise distribution of questions/subject wise weightage of questions (in numbers) for AIPGMEE 2014 will be as follows. Anatomy-15, Physiology- 15, Biochemistry-15, Pharmacology–20, Microbiology-20, Pathology-25, Forensic Medicine-10, Social and Preventive Medicine-25, Medicine Dermatology and Venereology -37, Surgery, ENT, Orthopaedics and Anaesthesia -46, Radio Diagnosis and Radio Therapy-12 (6+6), Obstetrics & Gynaecology-20,Biophysics-5, Paediatrics -15, Ophthalmology-10 and Psychiatry - 10 (Grand Total -300). The weightage of MCQ’s in each specialty is indicative and purely provisional. There shall be no negative marking.

A practice test to provide candidates with the feel and functionality of the actualtest is available on AIPGMEE website www.nbe.gov.in/AIPGMEE. Those registered for AIPGMEE can undertake the practice test prior to the actual testwindow. Candidates may go through the practice test carefully tofamiliarize themselves with the screens, layout and navigation.

Fee for AIPGMEE is Rs. 2750/- (For SC/ST/PWD candidates) and Rs. 3750/- (For General/OBC candidates). The above fee is inclusive of examination fees and information bulletin. The unique serial number on the Information Bulletin-cum-Examination FeeVoucher is available underneath the scratch panel and needs to be entered on theAIPGMEE website for the online registration and scheduling process.

The online registration & scheduling website for AIPGMEE for admission to MD/MS/ Diploma courses for 2014 session is available at www.nbe.gov.in/AIPGMEE. Candidates are advised to carefully go through the registration guide available on the website before starting to the online registration. Candidate may note that there is no option for submitting the form other than the online mode, offline applications or printed copies cannot be accepted.

Online Applications for admission to the examination should be completed by theprescribed cut-off date. On successful completion of online registration and scheduling, applicant will be able to print the acknowledgment of submission of online application. An acknowledgement shall also be sent by email to the registered candidate.

Minimum qualifying score in each category is as follows: General Category - 50 pc score; SC/ST/OBC-40 pc score; Persons with Disability-45% score. However, the result of the successful candidate will be proportionate to the number of seats available.If the reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/PH) candidate have Rank in the Unreserved category and as well as in their category, they have the right to claim over UR or their category seats at any of the said ranks as per their choice.

The results for AIPGMEE are likely to be declared by 31st January 2014. The mark sheet- cum-result certificate for the AIPGMEE 2014 examination-All India 50% Quota can be downloaded from the website www.nbe.gov.in/AIPGMEEafter the declaration of result. There is no provision for rechecking/re-evaluation/re-totalling of the answer sheets and no query in this regard will be entertained.

Based on the directions of the Supreme Court, a total of five times of number of seats available for allotment or all qualified candidates, whichever is less, will be given chance to participate in online counseling (allotment process) for All India 50% quota. The result of only those candidates who will be eligible to participate in the All India PG counseling 2014 shall be declared under the All India 50% Quota list.

The result in respect of AFMS / Other Institutes/ State Universities shall be declared in respect of all applicant candidates on the AIPGMEE 2014 website separately. The result and candidate data of AFMS Institutes/Any State/UT/University may be procured from the NBE by the concerned State Authority for generating their merit list/eligibility list / category wise result as per their requirement/reservation policy. The validity of the result of the AIPGMEE shall be only for 2014 admission session for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses and cannot be carried forward for the next session of admissions for MD/MS/PG Diploma.
